Sema Bicik was born in Osmaniye, Adana in 1959. She entered Ankara Gazi University Department of Painting in 1977. She attended Istanbul Mimar Sinan University Fine Art Faculty in 1979, and graduated with a Master of Arts degree in 1985. She worked for three years on her “Gallipoli” collection, which consists of one 10.50 meters and 20 different paintings, commemorating the Gallipoli Wars. She got the Australia Embassy Award for Canakkale Painting Competition in 2007. Se paints in surrealistic style and continues her work at her Beyoglu and Kanlica, Istanbul studios.
